Terms

Lumit, the editor, is free software under the GPLv3. Terms here cover what runs on our servers: a Lumit account, and Lumit Pro.

Lumit and Lumit Pro are largely maintained and made by Mack Reed, which is who “we” means on this page.

Your account

  • An account is optional. Lumit works without one.
  • You need to be 13 or over to have an account. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to buy Pro.
  • Never share your login details. We don’t take responsibility if you lose your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings ▸ Account within Lumit.

Lumit Pro

Pro is a subscription allowing access to additional online features.

  • It is sold by Paddle, who are the merchant of record. Their buyer terms apply to the payment.
  • It renews monthly or yearly until you cancel.
  • Cancel at any time from Manage subscription in Lumit. Pro continues until the next renewal date.
  • We will tell you before any price change.
  • See refunds.

Bought in the iPhone app

  • Pro bought in Lumit for iPhone is sold by Apple, under Apple’s terms. It renews monthly or yearly until you cancel.
  • Cancel at any time in your iPhone’s Settings, under your name ▸ Subscriptions. Pro continues until the next renewal date.
  • Refunds are Apple’s to give: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Dealing with misuse

If the features provided with Pro are used in a way to harm or negatively impact others, or the user attempts to misuse/circumvent/break the features provided we reserve the right to suspend a user’s connection and subscription with immediate effect.

What you store with us

  • It stays yours.
  • Anyone with a preview’s address can open it.
  • Don’t store anything unlawful, or that you have no right to share. We may remove it.
  • Pro includes 50 GB of storage.
  • If Pro ends, you can still open and delete what you stored. A project kept online is cleared after 90 days unopened.
  • Keep your own copy of your projects.

Our promise

We will make sure to avoid and reduce downtime wherever possible. It is possible features will sometimes be inaccessible, but we will strive to minimise this.

Nothing here limits any right the law gives you as a customer. Servers are provided as is. We are not liable for losses that follow from using them or from not being able to.

Terminating an account

We may close an account used to abuse our servers or other people. If you have Pro, the unused time is refunded.
